Even if the organizers would let you race Masters 45, trust me you do not want to. In most places Masters 35, and Masters 45 are faster than Cat 4 and Cat 5 races.
If you can find it, 35+ Cat 5 race would be a nice way to start. (i.e. a Cat 5 race only open to riders over 35)
The difference between senior and masters was confusing me because of my age. Not sure what qualifies as a senior. I can enter either senior cat 4/5 or masters 35+ in this race. The former is fewer laps so I guess that's the one for me.
