The pic is kinda small and fuzzy but I can tell you this much. The rear brake on the chainstay and style of the stem indicate a probable date of 1987. The E-stay bikes started in '89 I think. The Ariel was typically a mid grade model. That one looks like a pretty tall frame, maybe a 21". Should make a fine commuter.
