During the one day I spent driving around London, Wiltshire and points in between during a London vacation in 2004, I fell in love with roundabouts. Although initially confusing, once I caught the knack they were wonderfully efficient. Traffic flows smoothly and continuously through them, without the need for all the stopping and waiting that plagues intersections in the US. I wish we'd adopt them more widely here.
