A friend of mine just gave me her old bike, a Vitus 979. I'm trying to learn all I can about my new ride. I have never seen a headset like the one on this bike: it is a "Stronglight" headset.

I think the bike is kinda pretty. interesting little touches like pinarello seatpost binder bolts. it has a cinelli handlebar, dura ace hubs with open 4 cd rims, and I believe dura ace barend shifters. they're shimano barend shifters, anyway.

the brakes and derailleurs are campagnolo, but I can't tell what model of campy they are. does anyone know?

i've searched "vitus" on the forums and read a few things. some upsetting things, such as the potential for the joints to come apart. anything else interesting about this bike? Anything at all. I'm just curious!
