Years ago, before I started commuting, I went on a ride with a friend on a very cloudy day. As we prepared to leave I saw her pick up her cycling glasses and said, "You don't need those, it's overcast."

"It's not for the sun," she said, "it's for the bugs."

Now that I commute, I know exactly what she meant. And I've also learned the utility of having multi-lens glasses.
