I don't. Of the over 8 years I've been married, the wife has owned a total of 2 "Coach bags". She dresses simply and sure the HECK doesn't want to change curtains every 3 months. That would drive me crazy. Sure, it's great to own nice stuff. But rotating hand bags and housewares and shoes for 20 different occasions is crazy.
Discretionary accounts are all well and good, but communication is still important to keep a marriage strong. Keeping your schemes and dreams open (as well as finances) helps keep the connection strong. It's how I got my latest carbon fiber, 16 pound, $2000 instrument of speed in the garage.
