if that were the case (loaded down for touring) I would move
left a bit as I came into that corner so I could be seen as long as possible and to signal that it was unsafe to pass (unless someone's bearing down on me at high speed- then I'd adjust my position and speed accordingly- anything from hugging way right to putting down the hammer and pounding hard around the corner in a more left position then moving way right). It also looks like this road offers some pavement right of the white line prior to the corner- my guess is that will return after the corner. I am not averse to moving that far over, to the right of the white line (esp on tour) to make room for a logging truck or other oversized vehicle to pass at that point. I often find that this gesture is responded to with a move further left on the truckers part- not always but usually.
On the uphills, especially if they're fairly long and/or steep the logging trucks slow way down and are sometimes holding up traffic behind them as well so after they pass it's wise to give a glance over the shoulder or in a mirror before repositioning yourself back into the lane.
Again, I'd love to know from the OP how frequent the truck traffic was and what kind of volume the traffic was in general before I would rule this road out.
