yes you can screw a BMX freewheel on to the hub, it's the same thread pattern as the freewheel cassette. you will *probably* have to redish the wheel to get a proper chainline, however.
Missed it by that much...to get a good chain line, you may have to respace the hub (move where the hub sits on the axel). If you respace, then you will need to redish (change where the rim is in relation to the hub).
It's a little intimidating to the first time mechanic, but it's very doable. You can read about it here:
