These items are a blast from the past, bought in 1979 when I had visions of building my own custom touring bike. First is a set of Suntour Superbe caliper brakes, a beautiful copy of Campagnolo Nuovo Records. The polishing and finishing on these brakes, which are complete and still in their original box, are jewel-like and simply a work of art. Second is a set of custom wheels designed for touring. These consist of Weinmann concave rims (with Presta valve holes), 14 gauge straight spokes with 4X lacing, and Campagnolo Nuovo Record large flange hubs. The rims are sized for 27x1 and 1/8" tires (tires with tubes are on the wheels now, but appear to be dry-rotted). A custom 5 gear rear sprocket is on the rear hub, calculated for perfect gear spacing when used with a 42/52 front sprocket set-up. These parts have never been used, and aside from a little dust, are as new.
