The brake cleaner is not a normal ingredient, but it does a good job of disintegrating and draining off the fouled grease and oil, and evaporates 100% so there is no residue. I use the non-chlorinated stuff since it is safer and less noxious. Since it is a de-greaser as well, you NEED to relube at least once after letting the cleaner fully evaporate.
