These are very cool and functional. As far as I know, they are no longer made.
Since they run off the top of the tire, there is very little wear on the tire, and the drag seems minimal compared to a sidewall setup.
I used to have to train after work at night, and I have put many thousands of miles on them. They do hold up well and provide enough power for a nice beam.
The hot generator setup now is the Schmidt Hub generator. If you like generators, you have to get one.
