130mm rear wheel in 126 mm spaced frame?
I'm considering "modernizing" my 1989 Reynolds 753 Eddy Merckx as it's getting harder to find replacement drive train components. I've tried a 130mm wheel in the rear triangle and it fits with reasonable clearance for the 1st position cog but I'm wondering if spreading the rear end 2 mm a side would constitute the kind of cold working that should be avoided on that heat treated tubeset? Anybody been here before?
