My personal experience is that the public transit buses are the most predictable and law-abiding vehicles on the road. Of course I'm sure it varies greatly from location to location.
In DC,we've had two investigations by the local news about how bad the bus drivers are. They have them on video speeding,running lights,cutting people off,etc. We've also had several peds killed in crosswalks by buses. During the second report,they interviewed one of the managers for the bus system and the woman said,"I would hope that if they're(the bus drivers) engaging in unsafe acts,that they're doing it as safe as possible". I kid you not.
