it's about the happiest, most fun event you can do on a bike...
seriously, it's a rolling parade, and
kids love it. they clap, cheer, and enjoy the sights/sounds of all those bells going off. every cyclist you see in it has a smile on their face. (well until they get run over..)
and if it makes the kiddies happy, then it makes me happy too. ever seen a child smile/wave at a presedential motrocade? me neither.
