I think it was nice that she respects your cycling enough to buy you something nice to make it more enjoyable. The fact that she knows what kind of bike you have earns her even more points in my book. If I were you I would wear it and be proud. It's not like she got you a fluffy sweater with kittens on it because you like cats.

Not that it matters what others think, but I have a feeling that the people you ride with that will make any negative comments are jealous on some level. I'm not saying they are jealous of the jersey itself, but the love and respect it symbolizes.
