There's a point on my route where the MUP I ride comes out on the flat side of a T-intersection. There's a walk / don't walk sign, but no traffic light pointing that direction. I came up to the intersection with the don't walk flashing. To me, that means the light is about to turn yellow; then when don't walk goes solid, the light is yellow, you have five seconds to clear out. So I go bombing into the intersection. The sign goes to solid "don't walk", and immediately the cross street goes green. I think I hit mach 1 getting across there at that point! (I later realized that since the walk sign is for crossing from the top of the T, there is NO green light in any direction at that time.) I don't try to out run the flashing don't walk at that intersection anymore.
