God, that's the truth. I haven't worked in a shop in ten years, so I can imagine how effed things are. TREK is the Starbucks of bikes (I have nothing against either brand). If your LBS only carries TREK (and you won't be seen on one), go elsewhere. I find it very hard to believe that in 2008 you cats can't find a way to get another brand if you don't want a TREK.
Besides, if you want to be little rebels find a frame builder in your region and have him/her build you a frame.
