so yeah cleaning it up didnt work and i brung it to the LBS and the guy said its probably problem but hes not for sure because hes not the mechanic. anyways they are gonna try to fix it and if not it will cost 300 to replace. is that the correct price for a 105 shifter?

300 is like 1/4 the price of my bike. is there anyway i can just install a lever like the ones on the vintage bikes. because its not necessary for me to switch gears that much. i could always just use a cheap o lever and look at it while adjusting and move it the correct amount.
