Now that I've gotten the long-distance bug, it's really coming to a head.
On a side note, there's something so peaceful about a solo long-distance ride.
It's just you, your machine, and the miles slipping away beneath you...
I'd have to agree, I just started doing my heavy milers and it is much nicer.
However for me to actually get to the long distance bike path I have about 10 miles of traffic to go through each way

. Well, spread out between distances, of course, but still.
And there's always that little nagging worry that your tire might pop..
