I Hate Generalities!!! This idea that you can lump people into categories like racers, club tourists, lemmings, etc. Although there are some similarities... people are individuals...circumstances may create the illusion of homogenization, or even homogenize them to some extent. However I will guarantee you that many of those people did some research and feel they made an informed decision. Although I chose not to purchase a Trek ...because so many have them...they are an excellent bike and a wise and informed choice for the many who own them....even if they don't realize it.
I could make a comment/generality about bicycle riders/racers and their arrogant/uppity attitude but will refrain because of the insult to those who don't share those distasteful attitudes.
Those kind of attitudes were the basis for the disgraceful treatment of one of the greatest athletes the US ever produced....his name was Major Taylor. He was loved and respected in Europe while being mis-treated here in the US.
I am a 43 year old white male who owns a Klein Q-pro Carbon and a Kuota Ksano...can someone who hasn't read my previous posts please describe me and my views on life and the reasons why I make the choices I make??
