I use the sidewall bottle generator setup. My biggest installation problem was getting the taillight mounted on my rack. Then I had to run some additional wiring to get it to work. After that, I have had the small wire inside the generator (the one that carries the power to the terminal) break on my twice. The first time I repaired it. The second, the wire was too short. The end cap on the generator is a bit susceptible to knocks. I have knocked it off several times with my foot while mounting my bike. If I keep the thing in working order, it works fine, providing enough light for commuting on familiar roads. Not sure I'd be comfortable with it on unfamiliar roads. I love the reflector surrounding the headlight. It makes the light appear much larger.
