Of course after I posted that I went for a two hour ride that ended in darkness. On an innocuous corner, uphill, I popped a spoke in the rear. I rode it home, the spoke nipple rattling around if I went real slow. I have lights and such but still, in the dark, you hit more things.

Anyway, I got the wheels used, put on some very hard miles on them, and will rebuild them with some new spokes. I expect most of the spokes to be at or near their usable life.
