Can't put into words how happy I am that someone said "Trek 1000." I bought mine off CraigsList a few weeks ago, after someone ran a red light and decided to remove the front 2' or so from my wife's car. I work from home, so I bought it more as a "running errands" device, but it's turning into a fun obsession.

Accidentally ended up in the middle of the Pan-Mass challenge this weekend on Cape Cod at around their 3.5 to 4 hour mark. Wow, that was humbling... considering I was on mile 10 or so and being blown past by people twice my age.
