I just purchased and began reading the book "Major Taylor: The Extraordinary Career of a Champion Bicycle Racer". I knew of Maj. Taylor from other bicycle history books but after reading only a few dozen pages in the book I now realize what an incredible talent this man was and how poorly he was treated in this country. It is also amazing how poplular track racing was in the U.S. around 1900 and the years that Major Taylor competed.

I also recently finished another cycling related book called "The Rider" by Tim Krabbe which was a European book translated to english. Basically about a 150km bike race through the eyes and mind of the main character told in roughly 150 pages. Great book about bicycle tactics, psychology, history, and probably a little of what we all think about during a long ride or race. Very interesting.
