I guess I'm the exception to the rule then. I had someone steal a pair of Shimano 747's off my Klein while I was in college. *shrug* It definitely pissed me off, but fortunately I picked them up for next to nothing from a REI garage sale. Replacing them at full retail kinda sucked though. I don't bother doing anything to keep my pedals from getting stolen though. Like CastIron alluded to, Locks are for "honest" thieves. Any real thief will take what they want. I bet you could sawzall a crank arm faster than you could wrench off the pedals, especially if it's carbon.
