I'm new to using fenders, but want to put some on my new Jake.

Can any of you recommend fenders and tell me why you picked one over the other?

Also, I've read quite a bit about fenders making noise. Is this something I should buy from the LBS and let them get it right, or can I easily do it myself? I'll be using an OMM Red Rock Rack if that helps.
