Apparently I am an odd bird :D

You lot are corrupting me, I think!

I came home from work to find one of The Boy's friends had ridden his bike over. It was in the living room and I couldn't help noticing it was a rather decent mid-80s CCM (basic department store bike, heavy steel but nice lines, and it IS lugged), but the brake pads were practically antiques... and I just happened to have some extras for caliper brakes, that I turned out not to need just now... and oh, the poor handlebars, they were a little pitted and rusty...

Cody came upstairs to find his brake pads replaced, chain cleaned and lubed, derailleurs adjusted, chrome all polished up, and new blinky lights since I had some extras of those too (you can get a ticket for riding without lights here). And I was trying to true the rear wheel (unsuccessfully, still working on that skill).

The Boy just shook his head. He's getting used to me, and his friends (game geeks all) don't really have a lot of basis for comparison, so they tend to take this sort of thing in stride.
