And the biggest reason I brought it up is that so many motorists reply to any cyclist rant with the comments about "cyclists not stopping..." and yet, here is a government sponsored event to point out to motorists that they too have "issues" with failing to stop.

The motorists are not saying that motorists never break the law, they are just pointing out to sanctimonious cyclists that they do also. The motorists are just telling the cyclists to get their own house in order before they start pointing fingers.
