I assume this is your first year in the dorms, if you have any expensive property it will become a topic of conversation, eventually getting around to people who steal expensive property.
Although it makes sense that theft would happen this way, it doesn't. It's from people who lock up bikes worth more than $50 on campus for any length of time with anything besides ultra shyte components. Campuses are the worst.
