There is a road pretty close to me that I do everything to avoid - no shoulder, ~50 mph (median speed is prob 70 mph), 2 lanes in each direction and high traffic volume. Nice + curvy to boot. Luckily there are tons of alternates on either side. This is also the only road I have encountered that I choose to cross in the crosswalk instead of as a vehicle.
