What do you mean I can't stop for the stop sign?

So just riding and not thinking of much. When to stop quickly as a car was coming at right angles. I couldn't stop. Actually could not stop. Shocked me and a tad scary. I rode more cautiously at the other intersections.

Why couldn't I stop? Well there had been a very light shower, but it was not raining or even sprinkling. Just a little water on the road. No problem, right. So I confidently squeezed the brakes. Yep, they worked right, the tire stopped moving immediate, disc brakes. I forgot one little thing, you need more than brakes. A little rubber on the ground helps. With 700x30 tires and 20 mph, there's not much to do. I slowed but had to release immediately as the stopped tire would not grip and the bike was going in a skid. Now where that's character who claimed it's not possible to hydroplane on a bike.

So, be a tad more cautious out there.
