erm big arse backpack, cause I hate the side to side of a heavy packed out pannier off my back rack.

I'd rather have the weight on those commutes up on top where I can control it.

Now if I were out on tour - be a different story.

Oh yes and since I live very close to the public market --- I've been known to make two trips there and back and then make every nasty noise possible as I grunt and get the thing off my back and then weigh it.

OK 26-30 lbs in a really non-non backpacking pack purchased from LL Bean is pretty good but, sigh, not thru traffic!!
