They are designed for cycling shoes, usually road shoes. If you are not riding with clipless pedals, you should be able to find some decent "weather proof" shoes to ride with during the coldes wet winter rides. It seems like a better alternative to me...
If you have road cycling shoes, then you just need to get the same size as your existing shoes...
