In the past three years:
• I purchased a new $5K road bike from my LBS
• They also sold me all the new components for my 1995 Ibis Titanium Road and re-fitted it, another $2000+
•Then they sold me an additional pair of Ksyrium ES wheels, about $1000 at the time
After all that, I subsequently purchased my Cdale TT bike off eBay and my Fly Ti MTB from Bikes Direct. My LBS has been very cool about this, they should be, I buy EVERYTHING else (parts, shoes, pumps, tires, etc.) from them.
I will buy my next high end road bike (probably in the next 6-9 months from them too.
Yes, my first mortgage and the home equity line of credit I have used over the past 7-8 years at times are both from a local bank, and they are VERY easy to deal with.
