While I couldn't agree more, I imagine the conversation between the x-mart bike buyer and lbs would go something like this:
X-mart buyer to LBS: "Can you take a quick look at this bike to make sure it was built correctly?"
LBS: "Sure, our normal price for assembly of a bike not purchased here is $40."
X-mart buyer to LBS: "Whooooaaaaa, I only paid $63 for it. Forget it, I'll take my chances."
Bike ends up at the dump in a year, buyer goes to X-mart and buys another bargain bike for $62 ("Falling Prices").
