I raced the Buckeye Crit in Columbus in both the 4/5 and 3/4 races.
Unfortunately, we timed the capture of a two man break wrong in the 4/5's and I started my sprint about a foot late and lost 3rd by an inch.
In the 3/4 race, the pace was pushed hard, I got caught behind another rider who's wheel skipped in the last turn going into the last lap, a small gap opened up on the main straight, and the wind was strong on the second stretch and exploited the gap. I worked my ass off to get back into the pack, but I finished about 6 seconds back, which is better than what a third of the field could say after they all dropped out.
Overall; AWESOME COURSE! It was in the parking lot of the Jesse Owns Mem. Stadium just off of OSU main campus, the turns were fast and hard, and there was nowhere to hide. Not to mention that the race was run very professionally.
