I've never removed a bottom bracket before but this one needs to come off. I've got both the 8mm allen wrench and the special BB tool.

Do I need to remove the chain rings first? I can't seem to get the 8mm bolt out, its on extremely well or perhaps I'm doing it wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
