I think that is the reason everyone is getting on your case so much, and the fact that this does not give any positive insight as to the title of this thread.
The word gay originally meant "carefree and happy". The *****exual community chose to use that word refering to themselves as a way of stating that they are happy with themselves as they are. Over the years the term gay has also become a way of saying something is completely lame and is not an uncommon use of the word. To take offense at a term describing a choice of bicycle apparel as an afffont to ones sexuality is really lame.
