the company is mostly trying to appeal to the newer rider/kids rather than those that have performance in mind. they use lower quality parts (softer steel, etc) to keep the price low, and focus on the fact that they come in cool colors and whatnot.

so i guess what i am saying is that people think they are cheep because they are sold for so little when brand new.... (sounds a little redundant now that i think about it)
