I have the Ergon grips on my Rohloff'd Jetstream, and I love them. They give the largest measure of shock absorbing of any grips I've used. The Rohloff version wasn't yet offerered, and I bought the regular grips and cut the right one down for my Rohloff shifter. I cut the plastic inner tube with a saw, and cut the rubber grip with a matte knife, and it looks pretty tidy. It's not as severely docked as vik's. In his case, he was limited by the configuration of his welded-on bar end, which I think accounts for the apparent awkwardness of his setup.

iam, are you referring to these? They are the original GR2, with the "shark tooth" end.


Newer GR2s have a longer end, like this:


I would agree that the vestigial bar ends of the original version are nearly worthless, but would think otherwise of the new version.
