natches trace, 38 miles in 1 hr, 58 minutes and change. Started out thinking I would do the usual 28 ride... then decided since I did it in less than an hour and a half last time... I should use up all the daylight I had, estimated about 2 hours - decided I could avg 18 for 2 hours, and set that as a goal... on the way out I was a bit relaxed, really had to put the hammer down on the way back, got into a nice groove after mile 25 or so... was able to salvage the avg and make it back to the car in time. Turns out I actually had only an hour and a half of daylight. It was pretty hard to read my cyclometer when I got back to the car... I did have my tail light with me or I wouldn't have tried to stretch the time. I thought I would be cutting it close.... However, the temperature and humidity was exceptional. (was 91 when I left work at 5pm) also - at one point on the way out I had to yield to a skunk crossing the road. Also saw the usual deer and wild turkeys.
