For the return trip home, I decided to take the more scenic and hilly route through Montclair, Verona, West Orange, South Orange, Maplewood and finally Union. Was a bit more than I bargained for, but manageable. The Verona-West Orange stretch was a seemingly never ending series of climbs and descents, climb, descent, repeat. Got up to a white knuckle 34mph down Northfield Ave.! Felt good afterwards though.
