Comments: Suffice it to say that of all the shops in Austin, this is the one that is most likely to actually have the part you need. They deal mostly in Specialized, Trek and other attached brands. Employees at both locations, both in sales and service seem very helpful and friendly. It's also worth noting that BSS does a pretty good job of participating in the local bicycle advocacy and outreach movements.

Comments: These guys cater to an apparently more serious crowd. The showroom is not pretty, furnished in bare wood, and I believe with heavy iron bars on the windows. Nevertheless, Don (the owner and apparent head sales guy) seems pretty cool and is always quite friendly to my n00bish, more-money-than-skill self. He just let me take the Soloist Team I eventually bought out for a spin without asking for my driver's license or anything. I got the impression he'd probably have done the same thing even if I'd asked to ride one of the ****** carbon fibre bikes. Edit: I am not by any means suggesting that you try to steal a bike from here, but merely that the people who work there seem pretty friendly and easy going.

Their service is competent, expedient and reasonably priced, and even when I once unwittingly walked in on their busiest day of the year, they took a few minutes to help me out. ATC's big cachet seems to be that they sell pretty high end gear. They are the only Cervelo dealer in Austin, and also carry (and apparently keep in stock) Zipp wheels and fancy aero time trial helmets, along with various other higher-end-looking triathlon gear like wetsuits and tri-specific clothing.
I agree with you on BSS...always been good to me...I like Don too...he has also let me take bikes out for test rides for as long as I want (same day, smile)...he does like Cervelo...that's what I see him race with most often on Thursday niights...I like him, but, I could see how some people may not connect with him...
