I purchased the bike used, so having the wheels trued under warranty won't fly. It will cost at least $30.
I figured I'd rather spend another $100-$175 to get a set of wheels that is in every way superior to what came with the Sirrus.

Here is further insight:
$30 v. $175? which do you choose?
In my LBS double wall rims start at approx $70, so I am not sure where you get $100 for a set of wheels
better than the one on the sirrus?
Now, if you really want to spend the money go ahead, but I don't think that is very wise
