I work for the local university, but my office is downtown. I have two choices: Park at a city bike rack that is two blocks away or lock to a sign post right outside the building (legal here). I usually choose the sign post. I prefer proximity over appropriateness. Ask your management about parking inside. You may find they are willing to accommodate you.
