that was an attempted joke, and it'll be lost on anybody who hasn't been reminded (scolded, shouted at) to do that by Chuck Schmidt...I read on the CR list that several list members who intended to attend were sort of blind-sided by the abrupt cancellation (non-refundable airline tickets already purchased, etc.). No news so far as to why it's been cancelled, AFAIK.
