1940's Schwinn

I am certain that this has been covered MANY times. So please, try not to flame me for being lazy. I am in a bit of a press for time. Thanks! My Father in Law is looking to restore a 1940's era Schwinn. I do not know any specifics about the bike as he lives in a different city and is not a bike person. He just wants to do it for fun. But to get started, he asked me if there are any good resources for new/reconditioned parts for the fenders, lights, ect. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also, I am looking for a steel lugged road bike that I can convert into a ss/fg. I am looking for something that has good stock paint so that I can keep the frame as original as possible. Thanks in advance!
