Don't wear regular cycling shorts because the chamois is too thick to run comfortably. Many shops sell lycra shorts that have a thinner chamois that you can use for biathlons and triathlons. If you wear regular shorts (like soccer-type shorts or similar), you sacrifice some comfort and aerodynamic benefits that lycra has to offer. Good luck.
