Problem solved. Soloist was in its place the entire time.
I know that this entire mess sounded confusing. My apologies! I do know that after riding that Soloist, my Trek feels like a boat anchor (at least in sprinting/hard accelerating)!
Farby: With the exception of a few shops, most places I've been to are perfectly fine with paying in installments. In fact, a lot of new shop employees that want a bike normally 'work it off.'
