Interesting how a member of the BIG BIKE industrial complex (Bekologist the bike shop worker) tries to claim the conspiracy is with the LCI folks and other elite cyclist. Bek has many times said that any bike facility is fine simply because it shows bikes belong. The rest of the BIG BIKE industry has taken the same view, and formed their own coalition to get bike paths and bike lanes built to convince more people to buy bicycles regardless how poorly these facilities are designed. Bek and the rest of BIG BIKE never cared if bike facilities were safe and when there was evidence of the dangers of bike facilities, Bek and the rest of BIG BIKE just ignored the dangers and kept making their false claims of how safe they are.

Bek and the rest of BIG BIKE don’t believe educating cyclist to make them safer riders, especially on the roads will help sell bikes. So they bad mouth LCIs and anyone else that promotes education and VC; often calling them elitist.

At the same time Bek claims to be an expert VC rider, and the guy that can consistently sprint at 29 mph - racing and beating cars from traffic light to light. And don’t forget how Bek brags about riding 200 miles just for pizza.

Now who is part of the real conspiracy and who is the real elitist in this thread?
